How to Reach Jibhi from Chandigarh
The Chandigarh to Jibhi drive is one of the most scenic approaches to Tirthan Valley. Here is the definitive guide on buses, cabs, and driving yourself.
The Direct Drive
From Chandigarh, the drive to Jibhi is roughly 260 km and takes about 7-8 hours depending on traffic near Kiratpur Sahib and Mandi. The route follows NH205 and NH154 towards Mandi, then the NH3 to Aut. After the Aut tunnel, take the right turn towards Banjar/Jibhi.
The roads are generally excellent, especially with the new four-lane sections. If you're driving yourself, start early to avoid the Chandigarh out-bound traffic and to reach Jibhi before sunset.
Buses and Taxis
If you prefer public transport, several HRTC and private Volvo buses run from ISBT Sector 43 towards Kullu/Manali. You must drop at Aut and catch a local bus or taxi to Jibhi.
A private taxi from Chandigarh directly to Jibhi typically costs between ₹5,000 to ₹7,000 depending on the vehicle type and season.
