The rest of it is the trek group that forms over breakfast, the guitar that comes out on most evenings, a film or a board game if that’s more your speed, and a fire outside when the sky cooperates. A day in the valley
A typical day at The Rustic
No two days here are identical, but they tend to rhyme. Below is roughly how a day plays out if you're not off on a trek. The exact times shift with the season and how many people are around, so treat this as the shape of it rather than a fixed schedule.

Sunset Walk
FREEA short walk out to the ridge as the light drops. No guide needed and no sign-up, just whoever fancies it that evening.

Dinner at the Café
FOODThe café upstairs serves food through the evening. Order what you like: whether you’re dining alone or open to company, there’s a space for you, and it’s often where the next day’s trek plan comes together.

Live Music & Movie Nights
NIGHTSUsually one or the other, depending on the season and who’s staying. Bring an instrument if you’ve got one, or just grab a seat for whatever’s playing. A bonfire often joins in if it’s not raining.

DAYTIMETell the team you’re keen and they’ll fold you into a group heading to Jalori Pass, Serolsar Lake, the local waterfall, a riverside picnic, or a quieter trail, depending on numbers and weather.

Evenings & Easy Days

Movie Nights
The projector comes out, the lights go down, and everyone claims a spot on the cushions. It alternates with live music, so on most evenings you’ll get one or the other.
Live Music
Not a scheduled performance, just whoever’s staying that week picking up a guitar while others sing along. Some weeks there’s a visiting artist; some weeks it’s the team.
Game Nights
Board games and card games come out in the café when the group’s in the mood, an easy way to get talking to people you met that morning.
Riverside Picnics
On a fine day, pack something from the café and head down to the stream for a slow afternoon by the water. Ask the team for a good spot and the easiest way down.
What happens on a given evening, and how big it gets, depends on the season and who's in the house that week. Reception will tell you what's planned, or check @lifeatrustic on Instagram before you arrive.

What can I do at The Rustic?
Between treks there’s a full day’s worth here on its own: a sunset walk up to the ridge, dinner at the café upstairs, then whatever the evening brings, music, a film or a board game, with a fire going if the weather allows. In the daytime we’ll help you put together a trek to Jalori Pass, Serolsar Lake or the local waterfalls, or a riverside picnic.
Does The Rustic have live music?
On most evenings at The Rustic Jibhi there’s live music or a movie, depending on the season and who’s staying. The music is usually whoever’s around that week plus anyone on the team who plays, so bring an instrument if you have one.
Does The Rustic host movie nights?
Most evenings it’s one or the other, live music or a film on the projector, depending on the mood of the group that’s in. Groups can also book a private movie night; see “Curate an experience” on this page.
Does The Rustic have bonfires?
When the weather cooperates. It depends on rain and wind, so it isn’t guaranteed, but it comes together often enough that most multi-night stays catch at least one bonfire and jamming night.
Can you plan something special for a group, birthday or proposal?

What can I do in Jibhi at night?
Most places in the village close fairly early and there’s no bar or club scene, so most evenings happen at the hostel: dinner at the café, then music, a movie or a game, with a fire outside if it’s not raining.
