Expectations
Shoja and Jalori feel the cold first. Jibhi stays more accessible from Aut in many winter spells, but conditions change — always verify before you travel. Power cuts happen; hostels with backup power matter.
How to enjoy winter here
Pack serious layers. Keep itineraries flexible. Lean into café hours, books, music and short daylight walks. If the pass opens on a clear day, take it. If it does not, you still got the quiet version of Himachal that summer crowds never see.
